Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a Unit Assistant to support nursing unit operations and patient flow. You will handle data entry, scheduling, filing and supply ordering to keep the department running smoothly.

Responsibilities include answering intercoms, greeting visitors, coordinating with nurses and physicians, maintaining patient records, and ensuring HIPAA and OSHA compliance in daily tasks. Full-time evening shift schedule is provided, with opportunities to contribute to efficient care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: Unit Assistant course or 1 year related experience.
• Associate degree in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to intercom requests and coordinate services with nursing staff.
• Greet visitors and answer inquiries, relay calls to staff.
• Perform administrative tasks: phones, logs, scheduling, typing, filing, copying, faxing, ordering supplies.
• Enter and maintain patient records and related paperwork (discharge, admission, demographics).
• Ensure HIPAA and OSHA compliance in daily duties.
