Job summary

Trinity Health Livonia Campus seeks a part-time Unit Clerk to support the Med Surg Progressive Care Unit. You will handle clerical duties, answer telephones, relay messages, and assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges under nursing supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and offers a night shift (7:00 pm – 7:00 am) with full benefits and opportunities for growth within Trinity Health.

Position Purpose

Performs clerical duties by assisting the professional nursing staff by performing routine duties in caring for assigned patients in a designated area.

Utilizes Powerchart for Order Entry, and is a resource to employees utilizing the system.

Shifts Available: 7:00 pm – 7:00 am

Status available: Contingent/PRN Every Other Weekend and 3 Holidays per year required for Full-time and Part-time team members.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or GED.

What you will do:

• Answers telephones and relays messages, making calls as necessary.
• Assembles charts for admission, transfer and discharges, post charges.
• Sets up appointments for special procedures as necessary with appropriate departments, as well as setting appointments up for patients on an outpatient basis.
• Demonstrates ability to utilize order entry, order modification, D/C and cancel orders as directed.
