Finger Lakes Health is seeking a receptionist/clerical associate for Huntington Living Center. You will handle clerical tasks, greet customers, manage messages, and coordinate transport for residents to appointments and hospital visits. You’ll maintain resident accounts and keep the work area clean and organized.
The role involves answering phones, scheduling activities, ordering supplies, and ensuring confidentiality while supporting Nurse Manager and the care team.
Responsible for clerical duties, communication, reception duties, and transport of residents. Management of resident personal accounts as assigned.
Responsible for greeting and assisting customers appropriately. Receives messages accurately and priorities delivery appropriately. Takes appropriate action for all customer concerns. Maintains a clean, neat work area.
Answers telephone promptly and politely, identifying self, title and department. Use of intercom in a respectful manner.
Organizes scheduling of resident activities, i.e. podiatry, physician appointments etc. Coordinating/scheduling transport of residents and supplies to hospital and other required appointments as needed. Scheduling diagnostic studies as directed by Nurse Manager/designee.
Orders and maintains supplies/equipment as directed by Nurse Manager/protocol.
Maintains record of physician renewal and compliance of orders, progress notes. Keeps Nurse Manager informed. Maintains residents' medical records/accounts as outlined in policy. Clerical functions specific to their unit as directed by Nurse Manager, i.e. CNA Assignment Sheets, Admission/Discharge/Transfer notifications, etc.
Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Medical terminology.

Minimum: Related experience
Preferred: Clerical/secretarial, including computer experience preferred. Exposure to health care environment
Minimum: Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling. Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and oral and organizational skills. Computer literacy
Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Office products including word, excel and power point.
