Job summary

Johns Hopkins Hospital is seeking an Unit Associate to support nursing staff in a fast-paced hospital environment in Baltimore, MD. You will restock Pyxis carts and supply rooms, monitor expiration dates, and assist with patient room readiness while collaborating with nurses and the unit coordinator.

The position is Full Time, 40 hours weekly, with an evening shift (3pm–11:30pm) and every other holiday. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to identify clinical and environmental emergencies and follow procedures.
• Familiarity with hospital equipment, supplies and procedures (highly preferred).
• Strong interpersonal communication to interact with staff, patients and families.
• General office and Windows computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Stock Pyxis and supply carts; monitor expiration dates.
• Ensure patient rooms and supply rooms are stocked appropriately.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Collaborate with nurses and unit coordinator on daily tasks.

Shift: Full Time/ 40 Hours/ Evenings. Monday-Friday 3pm-11:30pm. Every other holiday.

The Unit Associate is responsible for a wide variety of tasks that help to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of healthcare services to our patients. This is a fast-paced position where the associate will be required to work in collaboration with Nurses and the Unit Coordinator. Daily tasks include, stocking items to Pyxis and supply carts, monitoring expiration dates on items, ensuring that patient rooms are properly stocked with supplies and linens, restocking supply rooms, maintaining a clean work environment and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to identify clinical and environmental emergency/ urgent situations and to follow established procedures
• Knowledge of and familiarity with hospital equipment, supplied and procedures (highly preferred)
• Highly effective interpersonal communication skills to interact with inter-professional staff, patients, families, visitors and other hospital employees
• General office, communication equipment, cleaning equipment, knowledge of keyboarding and basic Windows applications.

Salary Range: Minimum 17.07/hour - Maximum 19.81/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
