Job summary

Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore is hiring an Unit Associate for the Evening Shift. The role supports safe, efficient patient care by stocking Pyxis and carts, monitoring expirations, and coordinating with Nurses and the Unit Coordinator. It requires a high school diploma and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to identify clinical and environmental emergencies and follow procedures.
• Knowledge of hospital equipment, supplies, and procedures is highly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal communication to interact with staff, patients, families and visitors.
• General office and data-entry skills including basic Windows applications.

Responsibilities

• Stock Pyxis and supply carts, and restock patient rooms with supplies and linens.
• Monitor expiration dates and maintain clean and organized supply rooms.
• Assist the nursing team and unit coordinator to ensure safe, efficient patient care delivery.
• Perform other duties as assigned in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Shift: Full Time/ 40hours/ Evenings- Shift 3p-11p 5 days a week every other weekend.

The Unit Associate

is responsible for a wide variety of tasks that help to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of healthcare services to our patients. This is a fast-paced position where the associate will be required to work in collaboration with Nurses and the Unit Coordinator. Daily tasks include stocking items to Pyxis and supply carts, monitoring expiration dates on items, ensuring that patient rooms are properly stocked with supplies and linens, restocking supply rooms, maintaining a clean work environment and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to identify clinical and environmental emergency/ urgent situations and to follow established procedures
• Knowledge of and familiarity with hospital equipment, supplied and procedures (highly preferred)
• Highly effective interpersonal communication skills to interact with inter-professional staff, patients, families, visitors and other hospital employees
• General office, communication equipment, cleaning equipment, knowledge of keyboarding and basic Windows applications.

Salary Range: Minimum 17.07/hour - Maximum 19.81/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
