Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center is seeking a Unit Assistant - Float Pool for the FT Night shift. You will welcome patients and families, provide compassionate service, and ensure a calm, patient-centered environment.

You will coordinate appointments, perform clerical duties at the unit station, answer phones, page nurses, and facilitate timely delivery of medical items. This role requires strong customer service and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced unit.

Qualifications

• At least one year of clerical experience.
• Basic computer knowledge required.
• Healthcare/unit environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and family members and direct them to the appropriate area.
• Coordinate appointments and perform general clerical duties at the unit nursing station.
• Answer phones, page nurses, and sign for important medical deliveries.
• Maintain a courteous, calm demeanor while multitasking between people and responsibilities.

Provide compassionate patient focus and superior customer service -keeping our fast-paced environments running smoothly. Coordinate appointments and perform general clerical duties at the unit nursing station to assure the timely, efficient and accurate flow of patient information. Welcome and direct visitors and hospital colleagues to appropriate areas. Page nurses and answer phones on your unit. Sign for important medical deliveries. Cultivate a courteous and respectful demeanor while multitasking between people and responsibilities.

This is a full-time night position, 11:00 PM- 7:15 AM, alternate weekends. Position located at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

PreferredCriteria

Ideal candidates will have experience in a healthcare environment.

We’re seeking individuals with extensive customer service experience and a desire to Put Patients First.

Required Criteria

Qualified candidates have at least one year of previous clerical experience and basic computer knowledge.

High School Diploma required.

Salary Range:

$33.57-$35.52/Hourly
