Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian/Allen Hospital is seeking a Unit Assistant - ED for the night shift to warmly greet patients and families and support staff in a busy emergency department. You will provide compassionate customer service and coordinate basic clerical tasks to ensure smooth patient flow.

The shift is 11:00pm–7:00am, Monday–Friday with alternating weekends. Required: High School diploma or GED and one year of clerical experience; preferred: Associate’s Degree in a related field.

• Data entry skills with basic computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

Provide compassionate patient focus and superior customer service - keeping our fast-paced environments running smoothly. Coordinate appointments and perform general clerical duties at the unit nursing station to assure the timely, efficient and accurate flow of patient information. Welcome and direct visitors and hospital colleagues to appropriate areas. Page nurses and answer phones on your unit. Sign for important medical deliveries. Cultivate a courteous and respectful demeanor while multitasking between people and responsibilities.

The shift for this position will be 11:00pm - 7:00am, Monday - Friday and alternating weekends.

PreferredCriteria

• Associate’s Degree
• Customer service experience in a healthcare environment
• Knowledge of medical terminology

Salary Range:

$33.57-$35.52/Hourly
