Job summary

Aston Carter seeks an Operations Human Resources Manager to lead union relations at a Stockton, CA manufacturing site. You will partner with plant leadership and union stewards to balance production needs with fair labor practices on the floor.

You will oversee employee and labor relations, workforce planning, and compliance under the collective bargaining agreement, while coaching leaders and driving engagement and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive HR experience.
• 3+ years supporting unionized manufacturing environments.
• Experience interpreting and administering collective bargaining agreements.
• Knowledge of NLRB regulations and CA employment law.
• Experience managing grievances, investigations, and labor relations.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR contact for union-related matters and CBA administration.
• Interpret and administer the collective bargaining agreement consistently and effectively.
• Lead grievance investigations, responses, and resolutions with operations and union.
• Participate in labor-management meetings and maintain productive relationships with union leadership.
• Support collective bargaining negotiations, contract administration, and implementation.
• Advise leaders on labor relations, contract compliance, and workforce practices.
• Monitor labor trends and address workplace concerns to prevent disputes.
• Partner with Legal and Corporate HR on labor relations strategy.
• Conduct investigations related to policy violations, complaints, harassment, or discrimination.
• Coach managers on communication, conflict resolution, and leadership.
• Promote employee engagement and positive labor-management environment.
• Support workforce planning to align staffing with operational needs.
• Contribute to change management and organizational improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal HR policies.
