Job description

Come work for America's Master Craftsmen in Restoration and Preservation! Western Specialty Contractors is currently looking for self-motivated, top-notch individuals to serve our customers as a Skilled Laborer at our Washington DC branch. If you have a strong work ethic and a personality that helps with customer satisfaction, we would love to meet you!

As a member of the branch production team, you will be responsible for performing work within your designated area, following accepted standards of the crafts. Experienced skilled laborers are encouraged to apply!

Responsibilities include:

• Masons and Tuckpointers: brick replacement, lintel replacement, mortar removal and replacement, stone repair
• Waterproofers: below grade and building envelope waterproofing, pedestrian and vehicular coatings
• Caulkers: sealant removal and replacement around windows, glass glazing, window perimeters, control joints, and expansion joints
• Concrete Journeymen: concrete repair, patches, epoxy and urethane injection, carbon fiber reinforcement, grout pocket patching, post-tension repairs, sealing

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience in a trade or craft preferred
• Ability to demonstrate reading, writing, and math skills to understand safety policies and instructions
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift 50+ pounds, climb ladders/scaffolds, and see clearly (with correction if needed)
• Ability to work at heights, in extreme temperatures, and wear safety equipment
• Ability to read drawings and identify hazards
• Own hand tools of the trade
• Willingness to work weekends, nights, out of town, and at heights
• Reliable transportation
