Job summary

Pavion is seeking a Journeyman Technician to join our fire protection team. The role involves servicing, testing, and inspecting fire alarm systems, diagnosing faults, and maintaining equipment across client sites.

You will work with customers, coordinate with management for service orders, and pursue relevant certifications such as NYC S-98, NICET II, and Siemens systems. A high school diploma or trade school graduate with 4–5 years in the industry is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Trade School graduate preferred.
• 4–5 years direct fire alarm industry experience across multiple manufacturers.
• Clear background check.

Responsibilities

• Service, program, test, and inspect fire alarm systems.
• Ensure equipment is functional and operational.
• Diagnose causes of problems or failures in systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and systems repair.
• Replace system components as assigned; panels, audible/visual alarms, etc.
• Provide technical support to Customers including remote phone diagnosis and troubleshooting.
• Interact professionally with customers.
• Coordinate with Manager and dispatcher for completing service and work orders.
• Inform dispatcher or manager of service status for appropriate action.
• Perform fire alarm inspections.
• Maintain assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment.

Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Journeyman Technician to join our fire business unit.

Position Duties And Responsibilities

• Service, program, test, and inspect fire alarm systems
• Ensure equipment is functional and operational
• Diagnose causes of problems or failures in systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and systems repair
• Replace system components as assigned; panels, audible/visual alarms, etc.
• Provide technical support to Customers including, remote phone diagnosis, and troubleshooting of signal issues related to formats and receivers
• Interact professionally with customers
• Coordinate with Manager and dispatcher for the purpose of completing service and work orders efficiently
• Inform dispatcher and or manager the status of service to take appropriate action
• Perform fire alarm inspections
• Maintains assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Trade School graduate
• 4-5 years of direct fire alarm industry work experience across multiple fire alarm system manufacturers.
• Clear background check

Preferred Qualifications

• Siemens Systems certifications preferred.
• New York City – Certificate of Fitness for Fire Alarm Systems Inspections, Testing, and Service (S-98)
• NICET II Certification
• NYC DOB SST Card

Pay Range

The hourly pay for this role is: $39.40.
