Job summary

Pavion is seeking a Journeyman Technician to service, program, test, and inspect fire alarm systems in our New York service area. The role requires hands-on experience, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to interact professionally with customers.

• Ensure equipment is functional and operational.
• Diagnose causes of problems or failures in systems.
• Replace system components such as panels and alarms.
• Provide technical support to customers including remote diagnostics.
• Interact professionally with customers.
• Coordinate with Manager/dispatcher to complete work orders.
• Inform dispatcher/manager of service status.
• Perform fire alarm inspections.
• Maintain assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment.

Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Journeyman Technician to join our fire business unit.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

• Service, program, test, and inspect fire alarm systems
• Ensure equipment is functional and operational
• Diagnose causes of problems or failures in systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and systems repair
• Replace system components as assigned; panels, audible/visual alarms, etc.
• Provide technical support to Customers including, remote phone diagnosis, and troubleshooting of signal issues related to formats and receivers
• Interact professionally with customers
• Coordinate with Manager and dispatcher for the purpose of completing service and work orders efficiently
• Inform dispatcher and or manager the status of service to take appropriate actionPerform fire alarm inspections
• Maintains assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Trade School graduate
• 4-5 years of direct fire alarm industry work experience across multiple fire alarm system manufacturers.
• Clear background check

Preferred Qualifications

• New York City – Certificate of Fitness for Fire Alarm Systems Inspections, Testing, and Service (S-98)
• NYC DOB SST Card

Pay Range: The hourly pay for this role is: $39.40. Benefits: Per Collective Bargaining Agreement.
