Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Union Mechanic to support operation, inspection, and maintenance in an assigned facility. You will collaborate with internal teams to tackle complex maintenance and ensure reliable building systems in the DC area.

The role covers preventive maintenance of HVAC, boilers, and cooling towers, with emphasis on safety, compliance, and timely repair. A high school diploma and 2–3 years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 2–3 years of job-related experience.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs or more and perform stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders.
• Ability to analyze information and apply standard practices to make judgments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Partner with internal teams on complex maintenance and repair efforts.
• Inspect and repair HVAC units, boilers, cooling towers, and related systems.
• Review and assign work orders; perform preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Conduct facility inspections and due diligence; report conditions affecting occupancy.
• Complete hazard assessments; ensure compliance with codes or laws.
• Apply standard principles with practical experience.
• Lead by example and model CBRE's RISE values.
• Impact the quality of own work.
• Work within standardized procedures to meet deadlines.
• Exchange straightforward information and check for understanding.
