Job summary

Hyatt Hotels Corporation invites applications for a Part Time, Seasonal Union Banquet Server to support event staging and service at our California venues. This role supports banquet events, sets up and breaks down service areas, and requires weekend and holiday availability.

You will work with a team to provide friendly, knowledgeable guest service, understand event orders, and help with clean, efficient setups and breakdowns. A positive, reliable team player attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Part-time, seasonal position.
• Shift: 1st/2nd; must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Experience in banquet service is a plus.
• Must be a reliable, energetic team player.

Responsibilities

• Take service meetings and banquet events.
• Set up and break down buffet and equipment.
• Understand Banquet Event Orders to safely and efficiently set up and break down events.
• Help other Banquet Servers set up and break down buffet or other special food service tables and equipment.
• Provide friendly, professional guest service with menu knowledge to entice guests.
• Respond promptly to guest inquiries and concerns; alert a manager if needed.
• Complete prep and side work; maintain a clean station during events.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Position Overview

Union Banquet Server is a part of a team that creates an atmosphere where things happen, from staging parties to business meetings. The Banquet server’s role is important to the success of the event.

Responsibilities

• The banquet server will take service meetings and banquet events.
• The banquet server will set up and break down buffet or other special food service tables and equipment
• Understand Banquet Event Orders to safely, efficiently set up and break down events using in-room clearing and aisle tray breakdown buffet procedures.
• Help other Banquet Servers set up and break down buffet or other special food service tables and equipment.
• Provide friendly, professional guest service with genuine care. Be familiar with menu offerings in order to entice guests with its ingredients and preparations.
• Respond promptly, courteously and effectively to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns. Know when to alert a manager, should the need arise.
• Efficiently complete prep and side work to enable focused guest care and maintain an orderly, clean station during events.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
