Job summary

GALLS, LLC in Wilmington, NC, is seeking a Tailor/Seamstress (Production Associate) to alter uniforms and equipment for public safety professionals. You will ensure measurements and fittings are completed accurately and efficiently so the wearer presents the uniform proudly.

You will read work instructions in English, operate heat press and industrial sewing machinery, and perform alterations from hemming and patching to name strips and stripes, meeting production deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Experience in alterations preferred; training provided.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Read and accurately identify the customer’s needs per the Work Instruction Document
• Take necessary measurements and mark garments for alterations, with the ability to problem‑solve individual sizing issues
• Operate a heat press safely and efficiently
• Perform uniform sewing, alterations, and embellishments with accuracy and efficiency, to include taking up stride, lengthening/shortening tails on shirts, tapering shirts, adjusting waists, hemming trousers, mending tears, replacing zippers, applying patches, applying name strips, applying striping, and applying patches
• Operate industrial sewing machinery and meet production deadlines
• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
