Job summary

GALLS, LLC is hiring a Branch Production Associate (Tailor/Seamstress) to alter uniforms and equipment for public safety professionals. You will ensure measurements and fittings are completed accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities include reading work instructions, taking measurements, operating a heat press, sewing alterations, meeting production deadlines, and performing other duties as needed. High school diploma required; experience in alterations preferred; training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Previous experience in Alterations preferred. GALLS will train!
• Well-versed in industrial sewing machines, preferred. GALLS will train!
• Ability to effectively read/receive work instructions in English
• Extremely detail-oriented and quality-focused – you’re not happy with mistakes
• Solid communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, bend, stretch, twist, and lift, with or without reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

• Read and accurately identify the customer’s needs per the Work Instruction Document
• Take necessary measurements and mark garments for alterations, with the ability to problem-solve individual sizing issues
• Operate a heat press safely and efficiently
• Perform uniform sewing, alterations, and embellishments with accuracy and efficiency, to include taking up stride, lengthening/shortening tails on shirts, tapering shirts, adjusting waists, hemming trousers, mending tears, replacing zippers, applying patches, applying name strips, applying striping, and applying patches
• Operate industrial sewing machinery and meet production deadlines
• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
