Job summary

Capital Insurance Group is seeking an Underwriting Trainer to develop, implement, and deliver training for underwriting staff across Commercial and Agriculture lines. The role collaborates with regional managers to ensure training content stays current and effective.

The trainer will lead projects, create materials, and deliver both live and virtual sessions with autonomy under the Director – Underwriter Development & Audit.

Qualifications

• Degree in education and at least one year experience in insurance or finance underwriting or minimum 5 years background in training, or underwriting lead/management role in the insurance industry.
• Ability to facilitate instructor-led training in live or virtual environments.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Pro for training materials.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, facilitate and monitor training activities and training program effectiveness.
• Develop and evaluate training and reference material; assess employee development in relation to the program.
• Lead training projects and collaborate with subject matter experts to keep content up to date.
• Deliver hands-on training across underwriting levels to ensure staff competence.
