Job summary

Markel is hiring an Underwriting Support Specialist in the Richmond area. You will execute underwriting support tasks, rate new and renewal business, and ensure accurate documentation across systems in line with departmental goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; an associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strong written and data entry skills; attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to follow processes; able to manage multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Rate for new and renewal business, including pre-renewal setups and post-transaction tasks.
• Ensure accurate rating/pricing documentation in the document management system.
• Verify information in systems and ensure necessary documents are on file.
• Understand rate, rules, and forms for lines of business supported.
• Monitor and process incoming work within Underwriting Support workflows.
• Follow prescribed training guidelines to meet performance goals.
• Maintain productivity and accuracy standards; support service level objectives.
• Maintain professional relationships with Markel colleagues.
