Job summary

Markel Corporation in Plano, TX is hiring for an underwriting support role within the underwriting team. The position handles day-to-day client servicing, maintains workflow, and ensures ease of doing business with Markel by meeting agents/brokers expectations and delivering quality service.

US work authorization is required. Salary range is $20.41-$42.56 per hour, with eligibility for annual incentives. Bachelor’s degree preferred and MS Word/Excel proficiency are expected.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Serve as contact for agents/brokers; gather info, answer questions, and process routine transactions.
• Obtain information to finalize inquiries; maintain suspense/follow-up on underwriting items.
• Ensure data accuracy in systems; verify required documentation is on file.
• Communicate with team, agents/brokers, and partners to research and complete transactions.
• Follow internal guidelines to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant processing.
• Participate in problem solving to identify causes and implement improvements.
• Underwriter-directed updates to forms and policy changes.
• Build strong relationships with clients and colleagues across the organization.
• Participate in special projects to ensure efficient operation.
