Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in insurance, workers’ compensation preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret underwriting files and write concise reports.
• Proficient in MS Office and basic data entry.
• Attention to detail and ability to work with multiple data sources.

Responsibilities

• Review submissions for completeness and quality; request missing information as needed.
• Accurately enter data in underwriting and policy administration systems.
• Prepare preliminary underwriting materials to support underwriter evaluation.
• Validate key rating variables and resolve discrepancies with agents or underwriters.
• Document underwriting decisions to keep files complete, compliant, and audit-ready.
• Handle complex policy transactions (endorsements, cancellations, ownership changes).
• Coordinate policy issuance and set reminders to ensure timely processing.
• Support automation initiatives and test new tools; provide user feedback.
• Conduct peer audits and contribute to data cleanup and departmental projects.
• Identify workflow bottlenecks and suggest improvements for turnaround times.
• Assist with documenting procedures and training materials.
