Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies in Wilkes-Barre, PA is seeking a Service Operations Assistant. This entry‑level role supports underwriting through policy issuance, loss run requests, and related underwriting tasks, working in a single line of business.

You will review applications, handle document uploads, process endorsements and cancellations, and issue policies following state guidelines. The team offers a hybrid schedule (2 days remote, 3 in‑office), competitive pay, day‑one

Qualifications

• High School graduate; college preferred but not required.
• Full-time employment in a professional environment.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel with strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Review submitted applications, enter in IIS, and route to underwriting.
• Review ASC Uploaded Documents and route to the appropriate team.
• Review bureau criticisms for WC and refer when needed.
• Process cancel/Rewrite requests for policy changes.
• Respond to certificates of insurance and loss run requests.
• Endorse policies as requested by the agent of record.
• Prepare Notice of Conditioned Renewal as directed by underwriting.
• Issue policies following state guidelines and follow up on missing items.
• Handle multiple cancellations or other transaction related projects.
