Job summary

AmeriLife in Nashville seeks an Underwriting Assistant to support medical and loan underwriting teams, gather requirements, update Salesforce Chatter, and assist with carrier applications. You will maintain underwriting files, draft cover letters, and aid case managers to keep timelines on track.

Ideal candidates have life insurance underwriting support experience, strong data entry skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; Salesforce and SharePoint experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of life insurance underwriting support experience.
• Ability to process work accurately while meeting productivity, quality, and timeliness standards.
• Proficiency with data entry and policy administration applications.
• Ability to maintain complete underwriting files and prepare underwriting correspondence related to applications, policies, and endorsements.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and customer service.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Salesforce and SharePoint are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the case manager in completing carrier applications and follow-up efforts.
• Monitor each case during underwriting and escalate issues when needed.
• Work with carriers to issue policies.
• Download application kits and populate information for review.
• Draft informal and formal cover letters for Case Manager review.
• Assist clients with routine policy service requests and annual requirements.
• Prepare annual client summaries describing policy performance.
