Job summary

AmeriLife is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support medical and loan underwriting teams, gather requirements, review cases for completeness, and submit to carriers. You will track exams, update Salesforce Chatter, and ensure timely processing with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities include carrier applications, case monitoring, policy issuance, and routine client service. Strong data entry, MS Office, and experience with Salesforce/SharePoint are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of life insurance underwriting support experience in an agency or carrier environment.
• Proficiency with data entry and policy administration applications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Salesforce and SharePoint preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the case manager in completing carrier applications and follow up efforts.
• Monitor each case throughout underwriting, establish timeline expectations, and escalate issues to the Case Manager when needed.
• Work with carriers to issue policies.
• Download application kits and populate available information for Case Manager review.
• Draft informal and formal cover letters for Case Manager review.
• Assist clients with routine policy service requests throughout the year.
• Annually review each client’s policy and loan and communicate requirements to the client.
• Maintain organized underwriting files and enter case information and status updates in Salesforce.
• Provide administrative and project support to the Case Manager and underwriting team, including data entry, document preparation, file organization, and workflow follow-up.
