The Underwriting Specialist will work closely with internal sales, account management, and operations teams to facilitate smooth onboarding for new corporate card and expense management clients, resolve underwriting issues, and maintain strong relationships with Corpay's underwriting and risk teams.

  • Track and manage the status of all active underwriting files, ensuring timely movement through each stage of review.
  • Communicate clearly with sales and account management teams on underwriting progress, missing information, or decisions.
  • Liaise with Corpay's underwriting and credit teams to clarify requirements, resolve questions, and expedite approvals.
  • Maintain organized and compliant records of all underwriting communications, decisions, and documentation.
  • Identify and elevate potential risk or compliance issues to the appropriate internal or external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve underwriting workflows, response times, and data accuracy.
  • Assist in the development and continuous refinement of underwriting procedures and checklists.
  • Support the onboarding and activation of new accounts following underwriting approval, ensuring a seamless handoff to implementation or account management teams.
  • Provide regular reporting and metrics on underwriting volume, approval timelines, and outstanding files.
  • Stay informed about Corpay's underwriting criteria, policy changes, and risk standards to ensure ongoing alignment.
  • Represent the company professionally in all communications with Corpay and clients, demonstrating integrity, accuracy, and responsiveness.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Prior experience in underwriting coordination, financial operations, credit processing, or related financial services.
  • Strong understanding of business credit, financial statements, and underwriting principles preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable updates.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities; capable of managing numerous concurrent underwriting files.
  • Proven attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and reliability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and CRM or workflow tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills, with the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including sales, compliance, and external underwriting partners.
