Job summary

RLI Insurance Company in Peoria, IL is seeking an Underwriting Support Associate to prepare policy documents, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain underwriting files for the Marine product line. You will assist underwriters, format data for import into the front-end system, and produce basic operational reports.

The role requires a high school diploma (associates preferred), 0-2 years of related experience, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a high school diploma; Associates degree preferred.
• 0-2 years of related experience for consideration.
• Equivalent level of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Create policy documents representing the insurance transaction.
• Ensure regulatory compliance for each insurance transaction.
• Maintain electronic and/or physical underwriting files.
• Re-format data for import into front end system.
• Provide basic operational support for underwriters.
• Review facultative certificates for reinsurer terms.
• Resolve accounting discrepancies with facultative reinsurers.
• Provide reports to underwriting staff using front-end systems/Business Objects.
• Assist with User Acceptance Testing of systematic changes.
• Audit the work of others.
• May review/approve endorsements and analyze risk on behalf of Underwriting.
