Job summary

MSI, a leading MGA, invites motivated risk-management students to join a 10-week summer 2027 commercial underwriting internship. You will be aligned to umbrella, general liability or property programs and gain hands-on exposure to underwriting workflows.

You will learn from senior leaders, participate in mentorship sessions, and contribute to real risk assessments while developing teamwork, analytical, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in risk management, business, economics, liberal arts or related field.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Engage in a 10-week learning program to understand underwriting and insurance.
• Gain hands-on experience as an UW and work on projects.
• Assist with loss runs and submission intake.
• Enter risk information into rater for quoting.
• Shadow across departments to learn workflows.
