Job summary

Novacore is seeking a high-performing Underwriting Intern for its 2027 Summer Internship Program. This hybrid role blends on-site collaboration with remote work, offering mentorship, project work, and executive visibility within our specialty insurance teams.

Open to college students (junior year preferred) who are eager to learn underwriting, risk, and policy issuance, with paid opportunities and networking events across a 3-day on-site, 2-day remote schedule.

Qualifications

• Current college student in a related field with junior year preferred.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and focus in coursework or projects.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for agent and partner interactions.
• Analytical and critical thinking capabilities with problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Fully assist team members as needed.
• Interact with agents to provide superior customer service via phone and email.
• Review submissions for completeness, accuracy, and requests for information.
• Assist with policy issuance, binding, and billing.
• Review documentation and prepare files under underwriting guidance.
• Follow up on open items and request additional information to finalize tasks.
• Attend team meetings and perform additional duties as assigned.

Underwriting Intern

We are currently seeking high-performing, eager college students interested in starting their career in Underwriting, majoring in Insurance Risk/Business Risk/Business to participate in Novacore's 2027 Summer Internship Program!

All internship opportunities are paid and offer mentorship, peer interaction, project work, executive visibility, volunteer opportunities, and networking events.

Novacore has over 20+ specialty programs, where, as an Underwriting Intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside Underwriters and Underwriting Assistants within one of our niche market segments. Check out our various programs: Specialty Insurance Programs | Novacore

Our internship program will run from May 17th through August 5th.

This is a hybrid internship with 3 days required onsite and 2 days' work from home.

Responsibilities:

• Fully assist team members as needed
• Interact with agents to provide superior customer service via phone and email
• Review submissions for completeness, accuracy, and make requests for information
• Assist with policy issuance, binding, and billing
• Review documentation & prepare files under Underwriting guidance
• Follow up on open items and request additional information to finalize tasks
• Attend team meetings and perform additional duties as assigned
