Essential Functions

1. Supervise assigned underwriting team and enforce established guidelines and procedures.
2. Answer questions from the team and explain recommendations for complex situations.
3. Coordinate with underwriters, marketing, and branch management in planning and review processes.
4. Manage existing and develop new agency relationships to grow profitable business and rehabilitate unprofitable or low-growth relationships.
5. Meet with and educate agents about EMC products, underwriting appetite, systems, and services to generate quality new business opportunities.
6. Monitor business decisions to ensure adherence to guidelines, authority limits, rate goals, and service directives, ensuring proper pricing across the book.

Education & Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in insurance, business administration, or relevant experience.
2. Minimum of six years of commercial lines underwriting experience.
3. Preferred: CPCU or other underwriting-related designations.
4. Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.

1. Strong knowledge of underwriting and risk analysis.
2. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media tools.

Additional Information

The salary range varies by location, approximately $90,000-$124,000 or $99,000-$137,000, depending on factors such as education, experience, and geographic location.
