Job summary

Hull and Company in Dallas, TX seeks an Underwriting Assistant to support underwriting and brokering of risks, ensure complete applications, issue quotes and binders, and assist Account Executives with renewals.

Role requires 1–3 years of relevant experience, high school diploma or GED, and strong MS Office skills. Expect interaction with producers, carriers, and operations teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum education high school or GED.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite.
• Exceptional telephone demeanor.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• 1 – 3 years’ experience in a similar position minimum (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist the Account Executive when underwriting or brokering risks, ensuring information is obtained and applications completed.
• Process mail received by USPS, Email, or fax.
• Handle correspondence with company / producers with Account Executive supervisor as needed.
• Process brokerage and contract endorsements.
• Follow up on suspense items for applications, inspections, etc.
• Request Loss Runs for years written with office.
• Order and follow up for inspections.
• Review and have letters for renewals processed.
• Communicate with producers, Company representatives, inspection companies, and finance companies to insure expeditious handling of all submissions.
• Confirm that coding of required forms is completed and utilized.
• Ensure templates are updated for processing policies/coverage.
• Assist Account Executives when reviewing risk, rate submissions for premium, and terms; analyze exposures for quotes and renewals.

How You Will Contribute

• Assists the Account Executive when underwriting or brokering risks, ensuring that all required information is obtained, proper applications are completed, quotes & binders are confirmed in writing, policies are issued promptly and accurately, state filings (where applicable) are made and taxes paid in accordance with appropriate state laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned by members of management or deemed necessary to complete the above duties.
• Process mail received by USPS, Email, or fax.
• Handle correspondence with company / producers with Account Executive supervisor as needed.
• Process accordingly all brokerage and contract endorsements.
• Follow up for suspense items on applications, subject to, inspections, etc.

• Assists the Account Executives when reviewing, analyzing and underwriting risk submitted by producers, rate submissions for premium and terms analyze exposures for quotes for new and renewal business, issue written indications, quotes and binders.
