Job summary

Bridge Specialty Group in Dallas, TX seeks an Underwriting Assistant to support underwriting activities and ensure timely, accurate processing of quotes, binders, and endorsements.

Under guidance of the Internal Operations Leader, you will assist Account Executives, manage correspondence with producers, and help maintain underwriting integrity across our wholesale network.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education: high school or GED.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Exceptional telephone demeanor; ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Account Executive when underwriting or brokering risks and ensure forms are completed and quotes/binders are written.
  • Process mail via USPS, email, or fax.
  • Handle correspondence with company/producers as needed.
  • Process all brokerage and contract endorsements.
  • Follow up for suspense items on applications, inspections, etc.
  • Request Loss Runs for years written with the office; order and follow up for inspections.
  • Review renewals and ensure letters are processed.
  • Communicate with producers, company reps, inspection and finance companies to expeditious submissions.

Hull and Company is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join our growing team in Dallas, TX! Under guidance of the Internal Operations Leader, individual whose primary responsibilities include carrying out direction of underwriting assistant functions to provide support and integrity of underwriting practices.

How You Will Contribute:
  • Assists the Account Executive when underwriting or brokering risks, ensuring that all required information is obtained, proper applications are completed, quotes & binders are confirmed in writing, policies are issued promptly and accurately, state filings (where applicable) are made and taxes paid in accordance with appropriate state laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by members of management or deemed necessary to complete the above duties.
  • Process mail received by USPS, Email, or fax.
  • Handle correspondence with company / producers with Account Executive supervisor as needed.
  • Process accordingly all brokerage and contract endorsements.
  • Follow up for suspense items on applications, subject to, inspections, etc.
  • Request Loss Runs for years written with office.
  • Order and follow up for inspections.
  • Review and have letters for renewals processed.
  • Communicate with producers, Company representatives, inspection companies, and finance companies to insure expeditious handling of all submission.
  • Confirm that the coding of specific required forms is completed and utilized.
  • Ensure the templates are updated for processing policies/coverage.
  • Assists the Account Executives when reviewing, analyzing and underwriting risk submitted by producers, rate submissions for premium and terms analyze exposures for quotes for new and renewal business, issue written indications, quotes and binders.

License General Lines.

Skills & Experience to Be Successful:
  • Minimum education high school or GED.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Exceptional telephone demeanor.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in a similar position minimum (preferred).
