Job summary

Bridge Specialty Group seeks an Accounts Payable Associate to join our growing team in St. Petersburg, FL. You will perform accounting duties to verify accuracy and support underwriting teams with premium-related tasks.

You will reconcile reports, assist with tax payments, and collaborate with carriers to resolve discrepancies. Join a nationwide broker with a diverse carrier network and strong emphasis on teamwork and compliance.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Excellent phone manner and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Perform account current, bordereaux, and item basis reports and reconciliation.
  • Handle account current, bordereaux, and item basis carrier payables.
  • Assist with premium corrections and day-to-day accounting issues with underwriting teams.
  • Assist with reconciling and clearing Surplus Lines Tax payments for various states.
  • Correspond with carriers regarding balances and work with carriers/underwriting teams to resolve issues.
  • Ensure return premium funds are collected timely and recorded appropriately.
  • Review and resolve outstanding checks aged 90 days or greater.
  • Cross-train in accounting functions to cover vacations or absences.

Bridge Specialty Group is seeking an Accounts Payable Associate to join our growing team in St. Petersburg, FL. To perform accounting job duties on a timely basis. To verify accuracy of accounts by performing the following duties.

How You Will Contribute:
  • Responsible for Account Current, Bordereaux, and/or Item Basis reports and reconciliation.
  • Responsible for Account Current, Bordereaux, and/or Item Basis Carrier payables.
  • Assists with premium corrections and day-to-day accounting issues with underwriting teams.
  • Assists with reconciling and clearing Surplus Lines Tax payments for various states.
  • Corresponds with carriers regarding balances & works with Carriers and/or underwriting teams to resolve issues and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Corresponds with carriers to ensure return premium funds are collected timely and recorded appropriately.
  • Responsible for reviewing and resolving outstanding checks aged 90 days or greater.
  • Cross-trained in accounting functions to help fill-in covering vacations or any other absences.
Skills & Experience to Be Successful:
  • Required Minimum education or prior job experience – High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one – three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient with MS Office.
  • Exceptional telephone demeanor.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
