Job summary

Hawaii Medical Service Association in Hawaii on Oahu seeks a data analytics professional to support Underwriting and Actuarial teams. You’ll review data sources, prep datasets, perform analyses, and present findings to drive decision making.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with four years of related experience, strong communication, and proficiency with data visualization tools, SQL, and OLAP platforms; hybrid work arrangement on Oahu offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with four years of related experience or equivalent.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Understanding of data types and data reliability.
• Strong problem solving, data collection, analysis and interpretation.
• Familiarity with dashboards, data visualization tools, and graphics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
• Proficiency with OLAP tools and databases.
• Knowledge of SQL, R or SAS/SPSS.

Responsibilities

• Data Management: review data sources, prep data, ensure completeness and timeliness.
• Analytics and Technical Acumen: perform analysis, document methods and data sources, select appropriate analytics.
• Analytics/Reporting Tool Development & Training: develop and maintain self-service reporting tools and dashboards; provide customer training.
• Effective Communication: present findings, ensure objectives are met, document analyses.
