Job summary

HMSA is seeking a data analytics professional to drive data-driven insights in a hybrid Honolulu setting. The role focuses on data management, analytics, and tool development to support internal and external reporting and decision making.

The candidate will lead data preparation, apply statistical methodologies, and ensure reproducibility of outcomes while maintaining documentation of processes and findings. Strong communication and dashboard skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong understanding of data (types, content reliability, etc.).
• Strong problem solving and data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
• Strong understanding/use of dashboards, data visualization tools, and advanced and custom graphics.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
• Proficiency with OLAP tools and databases.
• Knowledge of SQL, R or SAS/SPSs.

Responsibilities

• Data Management: Reviews data sources and preps needed data; identifies issues, limitations, and risks with data sets/reports.
• Identifies existing and new data sources.
• Performs data prototyping to agree what data can/not be used.
• Preps data for use in analysis and resolves problems with source data.
• Performs data quality review for completeness/accuracy/timeliness.
• Maintains tables for reporting.
• Ensures data tools can accept/integrate the data.
• Works with external data contacts to resolve data delivery issues.
