Job summary

HEMIC in Honolulu, HI is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join our Finance & Accounting team in-office. The role focuses on pricing, reserving, forecasting, and operational performance analysis to inform strategic decisions and drive growth.

You will analyze data, develop forecasting tools, and work with Milliman actuaries to determine loss reserves. Strong Excel and Power BI skills, plus experience in insurance or financial services, are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or Business-related field.
• 3-5+ years of relevant experience, preferred.
• Experience in financial modeling, planning, and analysis using Excel and/or other reporting tools.
• Experience developing dashboards and reporting in Power BI or equivalent.
• Excellent math and analytical skills, as well as superior spreadsheet and database skills.
• Experience working in the insurance or financial services industry, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Extract and analyze data to develop forecasting and trend analyses with dashboards.
• Prepare annual rate filings and rate adequacy analyses; support underwriting and communications.
• Collaborate with Milliman actuaries to analyze loss development and reserves.
• Partner with Underwriting and Claims to identify trends and patterns.
• Become a subject matter expert in data sources and architecture.
• Build and enhance analytical dashboards for KPI tracking.
• Demonstrate data reporting capabilities to leaders and train others.
