Underwriter - Propane Target Segment (fully remote)

Position Summary

The Underwriter will analyze underwriting data to build and maintain a profitable book of business, with ongoing training and educational opportunities. Responsibilities include managing agency relationships and collaborating with colleagues to meet departmental goals.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Work with management to meet profitability, retention, and premium goals
• Develop skills for independent underwriting decisions
• Operate within assigned authority levels
• Build knowledge of products and services
• Participate in training and projects to develop industry knowledge
• Foster agency relationships through marketing activities
• Manage assigned territory, agents, and accounts
• Travel may be required
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of underwriting experience or equivalent training
• Experience with property, liability, auto, and physical damage lines
• Insurance designations (AINS, CIC, CPCU) are a plus
• Strong communication and analytical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Good organizational and time management skills
