The Underwriter Associate will join our industry-recognized training program, learning how to navigate a wide array of underwriting and marketing functions, gaining knowledge and competence in both client relationship management and technical underwriting skills. With the support of their team, manager, and mentor, the Underwriter Associate will develop key underwriting skills, including using both proprietary tools and external resources to analyze, evaluate, and set terms and pricing for complex exposures. The Underwriter Associate will also network corporately, leveraging the company’s substantial resources to provide a best-in-class response to our valued clients.
Through both classroom and on-the-job experiences, our Associates progress toward the Underwriter role with opportunities to work on live accounts, develop their own client relationships, and enhance their understanding of the insurance industry overall and how GenStar continues to meet the evolving needs of the E&S marketplace. Each of our offices serves a multi-state region of the country, with opportunities to travel for client visits, industry networking events, and educational seminars.
