Location: New York, NY, USA

The primary focus of this role is on broad territory management, including relationship, underwriting, and expense management. This role involves developing and maintaining business relationships with agencies and brokers to drive sales growth and distribution expansion. The underwriter will self-manage accounts based on authority level and underwriting appetite.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and analyze submissions, assess risk quality, and determine terms per company guidelines.
• Apply underwriting rules, rating manuals, and insurance laws and regulations.
• Make risk recommendations beyond authority levels.
• Maintain and monitor accounts using underwriting and analysis systems.
• Use judgment and initiative to support business goals.
• Prepare internal and external communications regarding underwriting issues.

This position reports to the Underwriting Manager, Commercial Bond.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
