Job summary

MIKEL is seeking a Weapons Systems Specialist – Undersea Weapons to support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, RI. This role focuses on safety, engineering, testing, and lifecycle management of U.S.

Navy torpedo and undersea weapon systems, leveraging Navy experience and collaboration with engineers and government personnel. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Navy weapons, is a strong problem-solver, and can work in a team.

Qualifications

• Experience operating, maintaining, testing, or supporting U.S. Navy weapons systems.
• Ability to work within a technical team.
• Must be able to obtain or maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering teams responsible for U.S. Navy torpedo and undersea weapon systems.
• Apply fleet experience to evaluate weapon system design, testing, and safety.
• Participate in technical reviews with Navy engineers.
• Assist in identifying hazards and recommending improvements.
• Review technical documentation and provide fleet perspective.
• Support laboratory testing, system integration, and evaluations.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and meeting materials.
• Collaborate with government engineers, former fleet operators, and developers.
