Job summary

MIKEL is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to join our Middletown, RI team supporting Navy programs. You will design, analyze, and document mechanical and electro-mechanical systems from concept through deployment, working with DoW and Navy personnel.

A strong background in CAD/CAE and multidisciplinary collaboration is essential. Responsibilities include trade studies, COTS evaluation, and development of 3D models, drawings, and documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, mechanical or electrical, from an ABET accredited program.
• 2–4 years' relevant professional experience in a regulated industry.
• Ability to obtain/maintain SECRET Clearance.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary engineering environments and customer-facing roles.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and document mechanical and electro-mechanical systems from concept to deployment.
• Perform trade studies on weight, size, cost, strength/depth; evaluate COTS items for manufacturability.
• Collaborate in team meetings; coordinate with DoD and DoW personnel, suppliers, and logistics.
• Develop 3D models and drawings using CAD tools; prepare reports, procedures, and test plans.
• Build and test prototypes and sub-assemblies with technicians and operators.
