Job summary

Raytheon is seeking an experienced leader to serve as Undersea Production Chief Engineer in Portsmouth, RI, driving technical strategy and program execution for complex defense systems. You will interface with senior leadership and customers, balance cost and schedule, and ensure compliance with DoD requirements.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance, STEM degree, and 10+ years of relevant experience in production programs and naval systems. Onsite work in Portsmouth, RI is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) required with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience leading a large, multi-disciplinary technical team with the ability to develop, empower, motivate, and monitor the team.
• Experience interfacing with senior leadership and external customers representing Engineering and the Office of the Chief Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Function as Undersea Production Chief Engineer interacting with Portfolio Chief Engineer and cross-functional Leadership Team.
• Act as primary Program Technical Executive, communicating and deploying the program technical strategy.
• Chair program engineering reviews including risk, design, safety, and configuration control boards.
• Ensure product performance meets contract requirements and align with program execution strategy.
• Coordinate with engineering managers to ensure staffing and root-cause investigation of failures.
