Job summary

Ella SA Contracting is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support planning and execution of underground utility construction projects in Texas. You will coordinate with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Foreman to ensure safety, schedule, and budget compliance.

Responsibilities include planning tasks, tracking costs, managing look-ahead schedules, coordinating equipment and materials, and handling permits, quality assurance, and documentation. Office and field work both required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Effective communication skills for both office and field coordination.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Willingness to work in both office and outdoor job site environments.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning and coordinating daily and weekly work plans with field teams.
• Tracks field costs, updates spreadsheets, manages PO logs, and supports invoice reconciliation.
• Supports 3-week look-ahead in collaboration with foreman and superintendent, reviews daily crew activities.
• Coordinates equipment needs, assists with crew logistics, and material orders for on-time site delivery.
• Works with Foreman and Superintendent on daily needs, material runs, and delivery coordination.
• Creates and maintains 811 dig tickets; tracks permit expirations and renewals, inspections, and utility locates.
• Tracks inspections, maintains as-builts, logs test results, and ensures documentation is complete.
• Promotes daily safety practices in the field, helps identify hazards, and communicates issues to leadership.
• Tracks field issues (utility conflicts, access problems), assists in RFIs, maintains logs, and escalates concerns.
• Assists with coordinating subcontractor schedules, site access, and daily activities.
• Maintains as-built drawings, submittals, daily reports, and project records.
• Reconciles material orders against executed POs versus on-site material and maintains inventory.
