Job summary

Blue Streak is seeking a Utility Drop Locator to identify, locate, and mark underground utility infrastructure before excavation and construction. Using electromagnetic locating equipment, utility maps, GIS data, and 811 locate tickets, you will help prevent damage to telecom, electrical, gas, and water facilities while ensuring public safety and regulatory compliance.

This field-based role requires extensive outdoor work, independent decision-making, and the ability to work in varying weather

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to safely operate a company vehicle between Alabama job sites.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Utilize electromagnetic locating equipment, transmitters, receivers, and ground-penetrating radar to detect buried utility drops and main lines.
• Determine the horizontal path and location of underground telecommunications, electric, gas, and water facilities.
• Verify utility placement using maps, records, and field observations.
