Job summary

LineQuest LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Locator to join our team. The Locate Technician will identify and mark underground utilities to ensure safe excavation and construction activities, requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently outdoors.

Responsibilities include locating utilities, interpreting maps and blueprints, communicating with contractors and stakeholders, maintaining records, and adhering to safety guidelines with proper PPE.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus.
• Experience in utility locating, construction, or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with underground utility systems and locating equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark underground utilities using specialized equipment.
• Interpret maps, blueprints, and drawings to identify locations.
• Communicate with contractors, utility companies, and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records and provide detailed reports.
• Ensure safety compliance and wear PPE at all times.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of locating equipment.
• Respond to locate requests and complete assignments within timeframes.
