Job summary

Bermex, Inc. is seeking a Line Locator Technician to detect, locate, and mark underground utility lines. You will work outdoors, read utility maps, and document work with digital devices while following safety procedures and company policies.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently in varying conditions, and a drivers license. Training for OQ readiness will be provided.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Driver’s License: Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet applicable company driving requirements.
• Ability to successfully complete Pipeline Operator Qualification (OQ) training.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to safely perform duties.
• Ability to use smartphones, tablets, and other required devices.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret utility maps and work tickets showing underground utilities.
• Use locating equipment and maps to identify the location of underground utility lines and pipes.
• Accurately mark the location and type of underground utilities using color-coded markings.
• Utilize hand tools to pinpoint utilities and perform field work in varying weather.
• Document completed work using digital cameras and tablets.
• Participate in safety meetings and follow safety procedures.
• Communicate professionally with customers and document work accurately.
