Job summary

Bermex, Inc. is seeking a Line Locator Technician III to accurately detect, locate, and mark underground utilities. The role requires attention to detail, a safety-focused mindset, and the ability to work independently outdoors.

You will read maps, interpret tickets, use locating equipment, and document work with modern devices while following all safety standards. Prior OQ training and 5+ years of locating experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be 18 years of age
• Valid driver’s license with driving record
• 5+ years of line locating experience
• OQ training documentation
• Ability to read/understand English safely
• Ability to read utility maps and tickets
• Ability to use locating equipment and field devices
• Ability to work independently in the field
• Ability to manage multiple tickets and priorities
• Willingness to outdoor field work
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Safety procedures and documentation adherence
• Experience with multiple utility types is a plus

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret utility maps and work tickets
• Identify and mark underground utilities using color-coded markings
• Use locating equipment to locate lines and pipes
• Document completed work with digital tools
• Follow safety procedures and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with supervisor and team, escalate issues
• Communicate with customers and stakeholders as needed
• Maintain accurate field records and reports
