Job summary

Bermex, Inc. is seeking a Line Locator Technician III to join our field team. You will detect, locate, and mark underground utilities, using maps and locating equipment, and document findings with digital devices in a safety‑minded environment.

The role requires at least 5+ years of line locating experience, OQ training, and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions. Strong English communication and independent work capability are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED completed.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license and meet driving requirements.
• 5+ years of line locating experience.
• Documentation of Pipeline Operator Qualification (OQ) training and current OQ status.
• Ability to read/write/speak English sufficiently for duties.
• Ability to read/interpret utility maps, prints, and work tickets.
• Ability to safely operate locating equipment and field gear.
• Ability to use smartphones/tablets/laptops/GPS for documentation.
• Ability to work independently in the field with limited supervision.
• Ability to manage time and multiple tickets within deadlines.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Must meet drug/alcohol testing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark underground utility lines from 811 tickets.
• Read maps and tickets to identify utility locations.
• Use locating equipment to determine exact line locations and type.
• Accurately mark locations with color-coded marks.
• Document work with digital devices and field software.
• Collaborate in safety meetings and follow procedures.
• Provide timely reports and escalate field issues to supervision.
• Communicate professionally with customers and the public.
• Utilize phones/tablets/laptops to record and share work.
