Qualifications

• Willingness to learn; locator certification training required.
• Ability to drive local roads and work outdoors.
• On-call duties may require working outside normal hours.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
• Walk up to 5 miles daily in varied terrains.

Responsibilities

• Use mechanical/technical equipment to locate underground facilities.
• Communicate daily with managers, excavation crews, and homeowners.
• Interpret job orders and respond to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Read maps and blueprints to locate utilities.
• Determine efficient routes for each locate.
• Remove and replace manhole lids.
