Job summary

LineQuest LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Locator to identify and mark underground utilities to support safe excavation on construction sites across the assigned area.

The Locate Technician will interpret maps and blueprints, communicate with contractors, maintain records, and ensure PPE and safety guidelines are followed; outdoor work in varying weather, requiring reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
• Experience in utility locating, construction, or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with underground utility systems and locating equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark underground utilities using specialized equipment.
• Interpret maps, blueprints, and drawings to identify locations.
• Communicate with contractors and utility companies to coordinate locating.
• Maintain records and provide detailed reports of located utilities.
• Ensure safety compliance and wear PPE at all times.
• Maintain and calibrate locating equipment.
• Respond to locate requests and complete assignments on time.
