Job summary

LineQuest LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Locator to join our team. The Locate Technician will accurately identify and mark underground utilities to support safe excavation and construction activities, working independently in outdoor environments.

The role requires strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to operate specialized locating equipment on construction sites across the assigned area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus.
• Previous experience in utility locating, construction, or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with underground utility systems and locating equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark underground utilities such as gas, water, electric, and telecommunications lines using specialized equipment.
• Interpret maps, blueprints, and technical drawings to identify utility locations.
• Communicate effectively with contractors, utility companies, and other stakeholders to coordinate locating activities.
• Maintain accurate records of located utilities and provide detailed reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all locating activities.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of locating equipment.
• Respond promptly to locate requests and complete assignments within designated timeframes.
