Job summary

LineQuest LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Locator to join our field team. The Locate Technician will identify and mark underground utilities to support safe excavation and construction activities.

You’ll interpret maps and drawings, communicate with contractors, and maintain precise locating records. This role requires working outdoors across assigned areas, adhering to safety guidelines and wearing PPE, with reliable transportation and the ability to work independently in varying weather

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
• Experience in utility locating or related field preferred.
• Familiar with underground utility systems and locating equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark underground utilities using specialized equipment.
• Interpret maps, blueprints, and drawings to identify locations.
• Communicate with contractors, utility companies, and stakeholders.
• Maintain records and provide detailed reports.
• Ensure safety regulations and company policies are followed.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of locating equipment.
• Respond to locate requests and complete assignments on time.
