Job summary

Wire 3 LLC is seeking a skilled Utility Locator to identify and mark underground utilities ahead of excavation and construction activities. You will work with detection equipment, read maps and plans, and coordinate with field crews to prevent service interruptions.

This role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication with stakeholders, and a commitment to safety standards in outdoor work environments. A valid driver's license is needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; utility locating experience preferred.
• Certification in utility locating (e.g., NULCA/APWA) preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to interpret maps and plans; GIS familiarity a plus.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark underground utilities using detection equipment before excavation.
• Interpret utility maps, as-builts, and construction plans for accurate locating.
• Communicate with crews, contractors, and authorities about utility locations.
• Coordinate with field supervisors to ensure locates precede scheduled work.
• Maintain records of locations, survey results, and locate tickets.
• Follow safety protocols and compliance programs on site.
• Respond to locate requests and manage ticket queues with construction schedule.
• Identify discrepancies in locates and report to project management.
